Today was the day we officially released our new album. So we went to Wexford to celebrate.
Crrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyy us.
And such a pleasant drive down we had in our spacious van, stopping off only to stuff our faces with deep fried mushrooms and chips and cups of limp coffee. We arrived in plenty of time to set up all our gear, have a leisurely sound check with Ricky at the helm and even take a few photos of ourselves lounging about in the venue, such was it’s opulence! Colour us chuffed. Colour use using the cinema stylee seats to ape The Bad Seeds. Colour us going to the pub for a gentle eye opener before the gig. Colour us throwing booze down out throats five minutes later when the venue phoned up wondering where we are. Are sure we’ve loads of time, we go. No you don’t they go, we advertised 8.30 and people are coming in. jayses. Theatres take it all rather seriously. This ain’t rock and roll, this is the boards, dahling.
Colour the best bit though, which is all the band on stage but for Me and Vinnie who got lost on the way back from the off license. Picture us running onto stage mid ‘improv’ all heaving chests and sweaty brows cos we had to leg the last 200 yards or so. Picture that one, hearties.
In keeping with the theatre tradition, and because we had off licence booze that needed drinking, we had an interval, then spent the whole thing wondering when we should go back on stage and should we call the audience and Jesus Christ what the fuck do we think we’re doing? It all worked out grand in the end. The Crowd were so nice, so well behaved and utterly indulgent of us. So like spoilt kids we courted their attention with encores and cds. We were all rather pleased with our performance, and sections of the audience seemed in agreement. Where could you go wrong.
We sipped thick Guinness afterwards and made our way home via the 24 hour Mace shop, where in was
the real star of the day, the Russian girl who made 9 breakfast rolls
