[w/ Pram & Future Pilot AKA]
Understandably thrilled, we were, to be given the opportunity to play with Pram. Watching them doing the sound-check was a highlight, cos for some reason, their live sound on the night was unbearably quiet, and Whelans has an awful reputation in terms of listening. Our sound-check was about 2 minutes long. Risteard is getting to be a dab hand. It was all beep, parp, bong, nice one, there you go.
We played pretty nice, loosened up by quite the few snifters before hand there were mistakes aplenty, but laughter also, and yes, tears.
The Future Pilot had once played bass for the Soup Dragons. He ain’t nothing but Dub right now.
Certain members of the band could be found asleep on the bar at five in the morning and attacking the manager cos they thought he was someone else. How we laughed, how they litigated. Fun days.
